Dr. Lawrence has disappeared from a mental institution. An extremely disturbed patient, Michael, is possibly involved. Michael is an expert on all things elephant and is strongly attached to a stuffed toy he keeps nearby. Toby Green, an independent psychiatrist is assigned to investigate Michael’s involvement as Michael draws the doctor into a psychological mind game involving his past experiences with his parents. The head nurse has insights into Michael’s mind games but rather than being an ally her motives seem questionable as well.
