Response to COVID-19

To Our Patrons and Volunteers

In response to COVID-19 the Patio Playhouse Board of Directors has decided to cancel all performances through the end of March 2020.

Patio Playhouse is committed to the health and well-being of its patrons, volunteers, performers and the community. After tracking the CDC and California Department of Public Health recommendations we have decided follow the recommendations put forth last night by Gov. Newsom. As our space will not accommodate the ‘social distancing’ standards recommended, we reluctantly decided to cancel the upcoming performances of our youth production The Vain Princess & The North Wind, as well as the workshop performances of the musical Hadassah.

We will continue monitoring the situation and will make decisions on future events, including Off the Cuff improv performances, auditions for our summer musicals and our May production When We Were Young and Unafraid as more information becomes available.

While we believe that our work has great value to the local community, at this time we do not believe that the value outweighs the potential risk to public health.

If you have already purchased tickets to one of our cancelled performances, we will happily refund you the cost. As a non-profit theater, Patio Playhouse depends on ticket sales revenue; if you are able, we would happily accept your ticket cost as a donation. You can also donate directly:

We will be contacting all current ticket holders via email, but please contact if you have any questions.

We urge everyone to follow the CDC and state health officials’ recommendations and together we can help mitigate the effects of the global pandemic.
