This is a non-equity, volunteer position.
In order to ensure the safety of the production, we are requiring that everyone involved be vaccinated against COVID-19, or be able to show weekly negative tests.

To submit for consideration, please email email@example.com with the following:
- A video of you performing a 1 minute cut of a song in the style of the show (a link to YouTube or Google Drive is acceptable; please sure that permissions are such that anyone with the link can view).
- A copy of your resume.
- A headshot.
Please include the following in the body of your email (even if it is on your resume):
- Your name (as you prefer to be billed) and pronouns, if you wish.
- Email address and phone number.
- What role you are auditioning for.
- Whether you would accept a role in the ensemble.
- Whether you are 18 or older.
- Whether you are currently vaccinated or planning on getting vaccinated against COVID-19.
- A list of all conflicts between June 1 and August 14.
Submissions must be received by May 30. Callbacks will take place the following week.
Callbacks will take place via Zoom and will consist of readings from the script.
Rehearsals will be Monday-Thursday from June 7-July 29.
MISS YOU LIKE HELL is the story of Beatriz, flawed mom to 16 year-old Olivia, and an undocumented immigrant on the verge of deportation. After living estranged from each other for years, mother and daughter embark on a road trip that crosses the country. Together they meet Americans of different backgrounds, shared dreams, and complicated truths in this powerful new show with vast heart and fierce humor.
PEARL: African-American, sixteen. Wise beyond her years. Lives in Yellowstone National park. Woodsy. Female or Non-binary.
MO: Southern, in retirement.
HIGGINS: also Southern, also in retirement.
Mo and Higgins are lifetime partners. Gay men, 50-plus. These roles include the following physical intimacy: kissing.
MANUEL: Peruvian (Latino), a day laborer, thirties to fifties. Widower. Caring and gentle. Male.
ENSEMBLE of singers who step into the story as:
A LAWYER, AN OFFICER, A LEGAL CLERK, A GUY AT A MOTEL DESK, AN ICE OFFICIAL. Open to all genders and ethnicities.
The roles of Olivia and Beatriz have already been cast.
The health and safety of our volunteers is the utmost priority of Patio Playhouse. All cast and crew will follow procedures and guidelines to ensure their safety. Rehearsals and performances will take place outdoors at Kit Carson Amphitheater. Additional rehearsals may take place via Zoom. This production will also be recorded and streamed.
