Director's
Notes...
Something is
lost between childhood and adulthood. In our world of computers,
PDA, emails and cell phones we often forget the magic of the imagination
and the lessons that can be and should be learned from the younger
generation.
I have had
the honor to work with three very brave and talented young ladies
and have watched them breathe life and form into an otherwise abstract
work that craves a child's imagination and ingenuity to bring the
tall tale characters to life.
These stories are more than just tall tales and costumes. These
stories speak of lessons. Sharing, loving, caring and growing through
the good and the bad decisions all seen and translated through a
child's eye and imagination.
The power of
this program is that it has a lesson for all, from age eight to
ninety-eight, the program offers laughter, lessons and imagination.
I thank you all for coming out and supporting our program. Next
stop...the young ladies and I go on the road to local schools and
The Children's Museum.
A very special
thanks to Patio Playhouse, Chris Hall and Brenda Townsend that have
made this project a reality. In the future, watch for more children's
programs that include school assembly performances. In the vision
of this dedicated team they have created the ground work for future
projects designed to go into the schools and offer a viable and
economical assembly program available to all local schools.
